Admission requirements
    
GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Undergraduate studies

The specific requirements for institutions will vary and will have to match with student’s academic background. The general requirement is successful completion of the equivalent of a Canadian secondary school academic program with strong marks. Proof of strong proficiency in English.. Students may be required to provide proof of language proficiency by way of a language proficiency test (For example TOEFL, IELTS, MELAB). Some institutions have other forms of English language assessment; they may offer their own language proficiency test or, may admit students to academic programs on the basis of having successfully completed that institution's language program.

Most of the Canadian universities have laid down the following basic requirements for admission of international students in undergraduate program of studies.

  • 65-70% for admission in your 12th grade for undergraduate study in a university Community colleges and Technical Institutes are more flexible)
  • Minimum of 550 in your TOEFL score (paper-pencil test)/213 (computer based test)

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: Graduate Studies

The specific requirements for institutions will vary and will have to match with student’s academic background. The general requirements are:
Completion of an acceptable undergraduate degree from an accredited/recognized university

  • High level of academic achievement in previous studies
  • Strong reference letters
  • Written Statements
  • Standardized tests such as the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or the Graduate Management Admissions Test (GMAT)
  • For Masters degree you require 16 years of education(10+2+4)
  • Work experience and a GMAT score of 600 range for MBA programs

Specialized Programs:
To enter programs such as health sciences, law, and architecture, students must have already completed up to four years of university study.

Initial preparations


Once, you have decided to study in CANADA, carry out the following steps:

1. Gathering of documents:
The first step is to prepare a file containing the documents required for the admission, depending upon your academic background and the program for which the admission is sought. The usual types of documents are:

  • Matriculation and 10+2 certificates and mark sheets.
  • Bachelor degree certificate and mark sheets of all the years/semesters.
  • Master degree certificate and mark sheets of all the years/semesters.
  • Any diploma or certificate course which you have done or in progress and its syllabus or course description.
  • IELTS/TOEFL/GRE etc. certificates
  • Proof of work experience if you have worked before.
  • Copy of front page of your passport.
  • Copy of that page in passport where you have entries of any type of visa and/or visa refusal.

2. Fill up the preliminary application:
The preliminary
application form is given in the web site. The application form should be filled and submitted for scrutiny along with the copies of the above documents for scrutiny regarding your suitability for admission to the desired program of study.

3. Submission of application:
